Is Osiris in the Bible?

 

 

What the Bible says about Osiris.

 

Two key figures in the origin of Christmas are Nimrod, a great grandson of Noah, and his mother and wife, Semiramis, also known as Ishtar and Isis.

 

Nimrod, known in Egypt as Osiris, was the founder of the first world empire at Babel, later known as Babylon.

(Genesis 10:8-12; 11:1-9).

 

Osiris was not only the ruler of the dead but also the power that granted all life from the underworld, from vegetation to the annual flood of the Nile River. From about 2000 BCE, it was believed that every HUman, not just the deceased kings, became associated with Osiris at death.

Osiris is often depicted with green skin to represent his connection to rebirth. He was also frequently shown with black skin to represent the fertility of the soil near the Nile river which Seth threw him into.

Later extra-biblical traditions identified Nimrod as the ruler who commissioned the construction of the Tower of Babel or Jacob’s Ladder based on the Biblical dream of Jacob in Genesis 28:11–19, which led to his reputation as a king who was rebellious against God.

Nimrod is described in Genesis 10:8–12 as “the first on earth to be a mighty man. He was a mighty hunter before the Lord.” 

Nimrod according to the Old Testament was the first King of Babylon. He was a conqueror who was a mighty hunter. The Bible doesn’t say anything about him being evil. In fact he was a hero to his people, like Hercules.

His “ evil reputation” mostly came from Jewish tradition and Christian commentators who claimed he was a “ rebel against God “.

Some Mormons believe that Quetzalcoatl, a figure described as white and bearded, who came from the sky and promised to return, was likely Christ. Above, on a red-figure bobbin (a spool used in weaving), Nimrod/Hercules knocks Noah/Nereus, who holds the scepter of rule, out of the way, invalidating his authority and replacing it with his own. Hercules wears his lion head and carries his club as signs of his great prowess. He forces Noah/Nereus to drop the fish, a sign of his now disrupted authority in connection with the Flood. .

Amenta, the great land of the dead in the West, could be the Egyptian name for Atlantis. In this case, “He who leads the West” would be the priest-king of the Atlanteans.
